AMT Handbook - Airframe, Vol. 2
ASA AMT Handbook - Airframe , Volume 2
The FAA released the newGeneral, Powerplant and Airframe Handbooks for Aviation Maintenance Technicians (AMTs).
these handbooks collectively provide the necessary information for persons preparing for mechanic certification—those seeking an AMT Certificate, also called an A&P license, with an Airframe and Powerplant rating. They are designed for use by instructors and applicants preparing for the
FAA AMT Knowledge and Practical Exams. These handbooks will also serve as invaluable reference guides for already-certificated technicians who wish to improve their knowledge.
• How do the FAA Handbooks differ from the Dale Crane AMT Series textbooks?
The FAA maintenance handbooks were written almost 40 years ago, and had very few updates over the years (with the exception of the new FAA General Handbook). The AMT Series textbooks (ASAMAINTECAI, ASAMAINTTECH) provide Part 147 training requirements that reflect modern operating procedures and technologies, and are written by an experienced industry expert.
