Personal Data
AFE define this as name, address, telephone number and email address. These are only collected when you give us express permission by use of either the contact us pages, or by creating a personal shopping account. When you open a personal shopping account, we ask for, among other things, your Gender and Date of Birth. We need the date of birth as a security cross-check. Sometimes, most often involving foreign names which we're not familiar with, it might not be obvious to us whether you're male or female, so we ask for gender so that we don't call you "Mr" when you're a "Ms" for example! Personal data will be held in a secure environment and in accordance with the Data Protection Act. By provision of your personal data you agree to its use both now and in the future for marketing purposes and in order to contact you. AFE, and its related companies will not disclose this information to any third parties, except when obliged to do so in law. For our part, AFE and its related companies will use the data responsibly, our policy is not to use telephone marketing and any email or direct mail marketing will be occasional and relevant to our customers. If you do not wish to receive catalogues or email materials, please use the "Contact us" section to advise us of this, and we will remove you from our active database. Please note that this may affect any open accounts you have set up with AFE.
