Aviation Sales Account Manager

Airplan Flight Equipment (AFE) are a long-established and successful aviation publisher and distributer of pilot supplies with a particular emphasis on flying training products. As part of our growth strategy we are now looking for an Aviation Sales Account Manager, likely to be based at our Oxford premises, opposite London (Oxford) Airport.

The role will include taking overall responsibility for AFE’s trade sales accounts (B2B) both in the UK and worldwide, ranging from small General Aviation (GA) operators to major airlines, airports and military forces. With over 3,500 products in our range and a diverse customer base, this is a varied and interesting position requiring flexibility and adaptability from the successful candidate.

Specific tasks will include customer services and daily liaison with AFE’s existing customer base, product range evolution, dealing with sales proposals/quotes and business development. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this is very much a ‘hands-on’ role, which will involve extensive UK travel and some overseas trips. It is well-suited to someone willing to work on their own initiative, able to spot and act on new business opportunities.

The successful candidate will have a demonstrable enthusiasm for aviation, a practical “Can Do” attitude and a good level of computer literacy (as well as a full driving licence). You will need to enjoy interacting in the General Aviation (GA) environment and although flying qualifications are not essential, many AFE staff hold, or have held, some form of pilot’s licence. Energy and enthusiasm, good interpersonal skills, a pleasant and helpful personal and telephone manner and a willingness to “Muck In” with the rest of the team when required, are at least as important as any particular academic or professional qualifications.

Aviation Sales Administrator - AFE Oxford Pilot Shop

Airplan Flight Equipment (AFE) have an immediate vacancy for an Aviation Sales Administrator at our Oxford Office, opposite Oxford (London) Airport – although we think we’re in Kidlington!

This position is ideal for an enthusiastic and hard-working person looking for an opening into a career in aviation. We offer practical support for those who see their vocation in the aviation world and many of the previous holders of this post have later progressed their aviation career as pilots with major airlines, private jet operators, the armed forces and major flying schools. Equally the role has a lot to offer someone with an aviation background looking to stay in touch with the flying world.

The role includes customer services and basic administration tasks, looking after our Pilot Shop and liaising with our customers, suppliers and partners worldwide as well as working on projects for AFE and its associated companies. This is expected to be a part-time position (minimum 3 days per week), although there is the possibility of a full-time position for the right candidate.

An enthusiasm for aviation, a practical “Can Do” attitude and a good level of computer literacy are all required. Flying qualifications are not essential, although many AFE staff hold, or have held, some form of pilot’s licence. Energy and enthusiasm, good interpersonal skills, a pleasant and helpful personal and telephone manner and a willingness to ‘Muck In” with the rest of the team when required are at least as important as any particular academic or professional qualifications.
